DevOps Engineer

About the job:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • System monitoring and maintenance including configuration & security management, patching, automation, hardening and system upgrades.
  • Manage Jenkins as a CI/CD tool.
  • Setup and maintain EC2 servers and databases on AWS.
  • Manage CloudWatch monitoring rules on AWS.
  • Ensuring overall system and server uptime, availability, reliability and security.
  • Keeping updated, accurate and reliable backups of application and databases.
  • Liaising with vendors, IT providers, etc. for specific requirements .
  • Documenting policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting server-side issues as they arise.
  • Manage network servers and technology tool.
  • Set up accounts and workstations.
  • Install and configure software and hardware.
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
  • Asset Management.


Skills:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
  • Basic Knowledge of AWS EC2, Load Balancer, Route 53, CloudWatch and RDS is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Jenkins is required.
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
  • Knowledge of system security data backup/recovery .
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills.
