Client background

Powerleague is the UK's leading 5-a-side football operator with annual revenue in excess of £30m. They boast a purpose-built network of 50 floodlit 5-a-side centres across Europe and have more than 150,000 players using their 500 pitches each and every week.

Aecor’s role

Aecor was engaged to review Powerleague’s legacy IT infrastructure and core business applications with the objective being to provide a more efficient platform to manage customers, whilst improving the overall user experience of their consumer facing website.

The most challenging aspect of the project was focused on reviewing and analysing a number of existing systems to enable the re-engineering and simplification of Powerleague’s core end-to-end business processes.

The consumer website serves as a useful tool for both customers and corporate sponsors to find out more about Powerleague. The website re-development encompassed a wealth of new features in addition to improving navigation for consumers to easily access team and local centre information.

As part of the new consumer website development Aecor created a new dedicated ‘My Team’ section focusing on the information relating specifically to the team of the consumer. This team specific area included fixtures, results, league tables, player statistics, photos, videos and social media integration. An accompanying iOS and Android app was created to enable Powerleague consumers to engage more efficiently with the their team and with Powerleague.

As a company focused on providing excellent football facilities, the ease and accessibility of team information was a fundamental requirement of the website and app. The design team created a much improved, streamlined design, which was in tune with the client’s desire for functionality, whilst improving and integrating legacy systems and processes.
